Bleeder Cleaner Varied Needs
Bleeder cleaners have several varied needs in the petrochemical industry. Bleeder valves are the most common application for the bleeder cleaner. This occurs because sediment is moved along the bottom of the pipe and falls into the downward pointed bleeder valve and is trapped against the gate of the valve. This trapped material must be removed or the bleeder valve will remain clogged. Remember, the function of a bleeder valve is to remove trappd debris that naturally collects inside.
Another area where a bleeder cleaner makes a real difference is the instrument tap. If an instrument tap is clogged it cannot perform the function of sending a good signal to the instrument and on to the control room. In this circumstance the instrument tap is rendered useless. A bleeder cleaner is connected to the instrument tap. After connection, the tool drillsinto the clogged area of the instrument tap and removes the debris. This debris is vented through the side port of the bleeder cleaner. At this point the instrument tap is free of debris and is placed back into service. The bleeder cleaner is removed, cleaned, inspected, repaired (if necessary) and made ready to be used again.
